Lunchtime Concert Series

We welcome everyone to come watch our Thursday Lunchtime concerts, or perform!

Our lunchtime recitals take place every Thursday at 1:15pm, and are open to everyone to attend completely free of charge! Ordinarily, they will take place in the New Music Room, a beautiful intimate chamber venue with two grand pianos, and have always been an enjoyable and well-deserved break for all members of the college community to enjoy.

We welcome soloists, ensembles and composers from across the university, in all styles and genres, to participate in lunchtime recitals. Previous concerts have involved everything, from bagpipes to piano nocturnes, and even an 8-piece orchestral rendition of Saint-Saens' Carnival of the Animals, led by St. John's fellow Prof. David Midgeley on cor anglais! They give an amazing opportunity for musicians of all standards and experiences to perform in a fun, welcoming and informal setting.

We will keep this website and our social media updated with the details of this term’s lunchtime recitals, so follow us on Facebook @sjcmusicsociety and Instagram @stjohnsmusicsoc to hear about what’s on!
